Professor Temitope Oluwagbenga Alonge was born at Oka Akoko,Akoko South West LGA of ondo state on the 16th March,1959. He had his West African school certificate (Grade 1) in 1975 from Owo High School, Owo, and later proceeded to the college of medicine, university of Ibadan where he obtained his Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Degree (MBBS) in 1983.

In April 1991, he became a fellow of the Royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS) Edinburgh, and Fellow, West African college of surgeon, FWACS (Orthopaedics and Trauma) in April 1994). His passion for the care of patient in his country prompted him to return to Nigeria in 1995 on completing his post graduate training in orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery in England. He popularized the concept of plate and screw fixation of fractures using the AO techniques and also designed the Alonge –Wale intra-operative antibiotic bead makers which made the beads making easier.

Prof. Alonge formulated the ceftriaxone-polymethyl methacrylate antibiotic beads and initiated the treatment of chronic bone infection with the Belfast technique in Nigeria as well as the concept of state emergency medical services at a two-day workshop which was conduct at the British Council in 1996 and has since been adopted by many state of the federation. As a professor of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, he initiated the basic trauma care course in Ibadan for reducing the number of preventable trauma related deaths.

Dr. V. I Akinmoladun was born on 7th November, 1965. He attended St Thomas’ Acquinas College, Akure from 1977 to 1982 and Boys’ Academy, Lagos in 1983. He qualified as a Dental Surgeon in July 1989 having obtained BCh.D from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He obtained Fellowships in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, England and the Faculty of Dentistry, Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland respectively in 1997. He became a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons in 2002.  Dr. Akinmoladun is a Consultant Oral Maxillofacial surgeon with interest in cleft surgery and orofacial tumours. He is an active member of the UCH branch of MDCAN where he once served as an assistant General Secretary, the NMA where he was once the continuing Medical Educator for the south west for four years.

Dr. Akinmoladun is an individual with calm disposition and one committed to excellence. He has attended many local and international conferences and seminars. He is a renowned researcher with several publications to his credit. He is a senior lecturer in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, University of Ibadan, Ibadan and served as the Deputy Chairman, MAC (Clinical Services) with effect from 29th February, 2016 until his current appointment. He is happily married to Dr. Mrs. Janet Adetinuke Akinmoladun, a consultant radiologist and they are blessed with children.

Mr. A. K. Shiyanbola was born on 29th March, 1965 in Lagos Island.  He attended St. Paul’s Anglican School, Idi-Oro, Lagos from 1971-1977 and Comprehensive High School, Igbesa Ogun State between 1979 & 1984.  He was first appointed in the University College Hospital, Ibadan as a Clerk.  He thereafter proceeded to the Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti for his B.Sc. Degree course from 1990-1994. He later proceeded to the University of Ibadan for his M.Sc. Industrial/Organisational Psychology between 1998 – 2000.  He bagged the Professional Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Management by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Management in 2009-2011, Master of Public Administration (MPA), Ekiti State University, 2011-2014 and Graduate Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain Management of the National Open University of Nigeria, 2013-2014.  He was converted to the Administrative cadre on the post of Assistant Secretary II in 1996.  He rose through the ranks to the post of Deputy Director of Administration in January, 2014.  Mr. Shiyanbola is also a member of several professional associations.  He is a Fellow of the Institute of Health Service Administrators of Nigeria. Associate, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria. Member, Nigerian Institute of Management. Member, Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Management of Nigeria and Member, Nigerian Psychological Association.

Mr. Shiyanbola has demonstrated considerable experience and exposure in his professional career as evidenced by his serving in various Committees at Presidential, Ministerial and state levels, these include:

  • Presidential Project Implementation Committee (PPIC) of the Federal Government/VAMED Engineering on Rehabilitation and Re-equipping of 14 Teaching Hospitals in Nigeria – 2003-2014

His leadership qualities are also impressive.  He was the Head of Students (Senior Prefect) in Secondary School, President of the National Association of Psychology Students.  He served as the Secretary of University College Hospital, (UCH), Anti-Corruption Transparency and Monitoring Unit (ACTU).  Furthermore, as a testimony of his sterling leadership qualities, he has the prestigious University of Ibadan, Registrar award for Exemplary Leadership and significance contribution to academic excellence.  He is the current Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) Bodija Chapter. He has also attended several workshops, conferences and seminars both local and international in course of his professional career.

Dr. C.A. Okolo was born on 6th May, 1971. He attended Army Children’s School, New Cantonment ‘A’, Kawo, Kaduna from 1976 to 1982, Rimi College, Angwan Rimi, Kaduna between 1982 and 1988. He qualified as a Medical Doctor in 1995 having obtained MBBS from University of Nigeria, Nsukka.  Dr. Okolo became a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria FMCPath in May, 2005 and also, Fellow of the International College of Surgeons FICS in June, 2014. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the University of Ibadan, Ibadan.

Dr. Okolo is a team player, a firm individual, with a calm disposition and committed to the common good of this Hospital.  He was Sub-Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan (August 2010 to 2011). He was also a three time Chairman, Local Organizing Committee of the West African Division of the International Academy of Pathology Annual International Conference (2007, 2008, 2009.)  In addition, he is presently a member, UCH Research Committee, University College Hospital Ibadan 2014 – till date amongst many other substantial posts.

Dr. Okolo has attended many local and international conferences and seminars.  He is a renowned researcher with several publications to his credit.  Dr. Okolo, Consultant General Surgeon is happily married to  Olajumoke Oluwatoyin  and the marriage is blessed with two children.

Mrs. H. A. Oduntan is the current Head and first Director of Pharmaceutical Services In the Pharmacy Department.  She studied Pharmacy at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (1981) and also holds a Masters degree (MSc. Pharmacology)   from the University of Ibadan (1998). She is a fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management.

As a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and International Federation of Pharmacists. Mrs. Oduntan has attended and made presentations at several national and international conferences and training workshops.

In recognition of her contributions to  development of Hospital Pharmacy Practice in Nigeria, she was awarded the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) of the  Association of Health and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAPN). She was also given an award of excellence by the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (Oyo state).

Mrs Oduntan is the current Chairman of the Oyo State Association of Lady Pharmacists and a member of the Sickle Cell Association of Nigeria  (SCAN) and Sickle Cell Hope Alive Foundation (SCHAF).


Her hobbies include reading and travelling.

Mrs. Juliana Oluyemisi Matthew was born on 22nd August, 1966. She had her secondary education at Ajasse Ipo High School, Ajasse Ipo, Kwara State and Baptist High School, Ejigbo, Osun State respectively from 1979 to 1983. She proceeded to the Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti where she had her National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Accountancy in 1988 and 1991 respectively. In a bid to get more knowledge, she decided to further her education which led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, a degree she earned in 2013. In addition, she bagged a Postgraduate degree of Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Financial Management option with effect from 2007.

Mrs. J. O. Matthew was appointed as Accountant Grade II in the Account Department with effect from 1st December, 1993. She rose through the ranks to the position of Deputy Director with effect from 1st January, 2013. Subsequently, she assumed headship of the Finance & Accounts Department with effect from 23rd July, 2013, a position she has effectively occupied till date.

She is a prudent and hardworking Accountant, no wonder she is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a member of different professional bodies such as the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria and Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria.

Dr. (Mrs.) Patricia Obiajulu Onianwa was born on 19th October, 1964. She attended St. Maira Goretti Girls College, Benin City from 1976-1982. She thereafter proceeded to the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital where she bagged her RN and RM certificates of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria in 1985 and 1988 respectively. In a bid to acquire more knowledge, she proceeded to the University of Ibadan for her Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree which she obtained in 1995. Thereafter, she bagged a Masters of Personnel Psychology from the University of Ibadan in 1997 and subsequently bagged her Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa in 2011.

Dr. (Mrs.) Onianwa was appointed as Staff Nurse in the Nursing Department with effect from 12th March 1989. She rose through the ranks to the position of Chief Nursing Officer with effect from 1st July, 2007 and was thereafter appointed as Deputy Director (Clinical Nursing) – Wards with effects from 11th January, 2011.

Mrs. M.A. Akintayo was born on the 26th June, 1965. She attended St. Anne’s School, Ibadan from 1977 to 1983 after which she proceeded to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife from 1984 to 1989 where she bagged a Bachelor degree in Medical Rehabilitation. As a result of her quest for knowledge, she proceeded for Masters Degree programme in Physiotherapy at the University of Ibadan and was awarded the certificate in 201. She is a member of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy.
Mrs. Akintayo was appointed As Physiotherapist in the Department of Physiotherapy with effect from 2nd January 1991. She rose through the ranks to the position of Deputy Director (Physiotherapy) with effect from 1st August, 2018.

She assumed headship of Physiotherapy Department on 25th June 2013 in line with the decision of the Board of Management of the Hospital on rotational headship exposure in her professional career

Mrs. Olukemi Adesola Olateru-Olagbegi was born on 23rd April, 1965. She had her primary education at the Apostolic Central Primary School, Odo-Okun Modakeke, Osun State from 1970-1976 after which she proceeded to Modakeke High School, Modakeke, Osun State from 1977-1981.
In furtherance to her education, she bagged an Associate Certificate from the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology of Nigeria in 1987 and became a fellow of the Institute in 1996. Thereafter, she went to Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye in Ogun State for a Masters degree in Chemical Pathology with effect from 2007. She also possesses a Masters degree in Certificate from the University of Ibadan with effect from 7th March, 2016.

Mrs. Olateru-Olagbegi was appointed as Medical Laboratory Technologist II in the Department of Haematology with effect from 12th July, 1989. She rose through the ranks to the post of Principal Medical Laboratory Technologist with effect from 1st July, 2000, and was redesignated to the post of Chief Medical Laboratory Scientist with effect from 13th October, 2005. She rose through the ranks until she was appointed to the post of Deputy (Medical Laboratory Scientist) with effect from 19th March, 2010. She became the Deputy Director (Training) of the Centre for FMLS in this Hospital with effect from 19th May, 2014.

She was subsequently promoted to the post of Director (Medical Laboratory Scientist) with effect from 1st January, 2017.
